What a night we had, thanks to everyone who came out and to Biscuits n' Gravy who joined me for a few songs on the spot and delivered a beautiful opening set! And thanks to TwickFolk for their constancy in supporting the arts!

I am RIDICULOUSLY excited about this concert! Biscuits n’ Gravy shared the evening with me when I last played TWICKFOLK and our music went together like a dream, like we really were back home at Mawmaw’s sitting in the old cabin and playing the music that grew up in the mountains! NOT TO BE MISSED.

SOLD OUT! THANK YOU FOR AN EXTRAORDINARY NIGHT! AND THANKS TO THE RECORD SHOP FOLKS FOR BEING EXCEPTIONAL HOSTS!

About five tickets remaining as of September 22nd. Space is limited. So, get your tickets in person at Revolution Records (say hi to Conrad from me) OR you can buy tickets through me via Paypal or BACS. Just send me an email at jeniannhankins@gmail.com.

The folks at Revolution Records are just plain GREAT! I went in there just after they opened months ago and somehow I ended up flatfoot dancing in the store . . . you know me . . . and then I found a record on which banjo-maker Dave Stacey played back in the 1980s. I got to telling them how I have a Dave Stacey banjo which I bought in an auction up in Lancashire. Then, we started talking about instruments and I mentioned that I played the sewing machine. Well, that was it! We decided there ought be a concert at the record shop!

As I said, they are selling tickets fast at the shop even though the concert is several months away, so get in touch with me if you’d like to come. There is no way to buy tickets online, just in person in the shop or from me (PayPal or BACS).

Jeni will be appearing with her duo for a country-folk show on Saturday and a children's show on Sunday. She will be giving a flatfoot workshop as well.

The Jeni Hankins duo are Jeni Hankins and Alfred John Hickling (King Courgette). Jeni has been playing with Alfred since their bands shared multi-band bill in York back in 2010. Since then, they've played together throughout Yorkshire, Lancashire, and London. Together, the duo cover guitar, banjo, mandolin, feet, and xylophone!

JOURNEY THROUGH THE WONDARIUM WITH RED, YELLOW, AND GREEN

The Jeni Hankins duo presents a show made specifically for primary school children to introduce them to how they can invent songs on their own anytime, anywhere. A studious hippopotamus, a mountain bear, a trampoline girl, a useful piece of string, and Owl & Rabbit – the xylophone guys – will show kids how songs can come from absolutely nowhere and everywhere. With buckets of rhythm, crazy rhymes, and a boatful of characters from the Wondarium, kids will be dancing and singing all the way through this show!
